The bus, the Visa and the flight
They say you realize what you have when
you lose it. Well, I realized I really want to do this when I faced
the possibility I won't make it due to a series of unfortunate
events. In other words – it was at the D1 highway, around 9.30am
when we got stuck in the traffic because of some idiot who decided to
be an ass and crash his car. The original arrival time was 10.10am
and that was not going to happen. That was the moment I started to
panic and realize I REALLY wanted to go.
Long story short, we ended up having
only half an hour delay so I made it to the Embassy on time to get my
passport with the Visa. Because that was the reason I had to be in
Prague by noon, the Visa office hours are 9-12. Lovely, but what can
you do. Which brings me to: My first Visa in my passport, yipii yay.
Or something.
It was a slow day in between as I had
basically nothing to do besides watching tv shows and taking loooong
hot shower/bath. And getting mentally ready, freaking out, breaking
down, getting excited and generally the usual mix of instability in
my head. But I'm getting off topic.
The flight! That part is still ahead,
two hours to go. Thank you free airport wi-fi, I truly appreciate
you. Also, it was nice even the flight attendant approved of my
intention to travel light and having only two bags (wrapped together
by foil to create ONE checked luggage - sometimes I even learn from
experience), supporting my idea of „you can buy the rest there and
it will be way cheaper“. Yes, I'm glad more people agree.
Also one Spiderman meme comes in mind -
„Other people are out, having Valentine dinners. I'm just sitting
here, waiting for my flight to Thailand.“
And one quote by Sir David Attenborough
at the end: „Getting to places like Bangkok or Singapore was a hell
of a sweat. But when you got there it was the back of beyond. It was
just a series of small tin sheds. You felt you were really in the
'mystic east' with all these hucksters around which you were never
quite sure weren't pickpockets and loose ladies.“ ...oh well, let's
see how it all goes ;)
